For the artisans, baskets have long been an essential tool - traditionally used to carry goods, often balanced on their heads, such as the harvest carried from the fields to their homes.
The Universe of Baskets collection brings together the many types of baskets we work with: their own traditional designs, others they have created over time, and new models designed by DANYÉ, always preserving their weaving techniques.
Baskets developed in Zimbabwe with ilala palm take on unique shapes — no two are ever the same —due to the artisans’ distinctive weaving technique and the absence of a mold.
Baskets developed in Eswatini, with lutindzi grass are most often shaped using molds, giving them more uniformity.
