DANYÉ has developed a unique collection of handcrafted lighting in collaboration with artisans from Zimbabwe and Eswatini.
Palm Lamps are handwoven using locally sourced Ilala palm from Zimbabwe. Over 2,000 artisans dye the palm at home using natural pigments extracted from the bark of the indigenous Plum Bird tree, and occasionally from the indigo plant. No two pieces are the same. The absence of molds allows for natural variation in shape, while each weaver brings their own creative vision to the patterns.
Grass Lamps are intricately woven with grass and sisal. DANYÉ collaborates with over 750 artisans in Eswatini to create these designs. A discreet metal structure supports the form, echoing the raw beauty and inspiration of African landscapes.
Grass & Wood Lamps are designed and crafted by a young artisan supported by DANYÉ. Together with his small team, he merges traditional influences with natural materials like jacaranda wood and grass, creating lighting pieces rooted in local heritage.
